Breadcrumb list that is an important measure for SEO measures.
We will introduce how to set the plug-in “Breadcrumb NavXT” that can add this breadcrumb list.
※The setting method introduced here is a setting method using a widget. Please look for another way to change the php file of the template and display it in the header area.

- Click “Add New” from the wordpress plugin screen.

Add widget
Next is how to add a breadcrumb widget.
- Go to WordPress “Appearance”-> “Widgets”.
- Click “Breadcrumb NavXT” under “Available Widgets” on the left side of the screen and select the location you want to add.
(This site is installed in the “top bar”) - After adding the widget, it is better to check “Link bread crumbs” below for both SEO and site visitors.
Other check boxes can be turned ON / OFF according to your preference.
4. When you have finished setting the check boxes, click the “Finish” button at the end to complete the breadcrumb list installation.
Plugin settings
Finally, it is the setting of the “Breadcrumb NavXT” plug-in.
At this point, the breadcrumb list has been set up, but if you want to change the display a little, you can change it from the settings.
The main contents that can be changed are as follows.
・Delimiter
・Whether or not a link to the current page is set
・Setting whether to include the display of the HOME page in the display of the breadcrumb list(The “HOME” display in the above figure is the corresponding display)
・Hierarchical display when displaying breadcrumbs can be selected from “Category”, “Date”, “Tag”, “Parent post”, etc.
Delimitter
You can set the delimiter on the General tab.
The default value of the delimiter is “>” which represents “>” in html notation.
If you want to change the display of the html character code by referring to here, you should try it.
You can set whether to display the TOP page on the General tab.
If you want to include the HOME display in the breadcrumb list, check “Include homepage in breadcrumbs” in the figure below.
In addition, by default, the display of the home page is the title of the home page.
If you want to change the display of the homepage to a character string such as “HOME” instead of the title, the character string you want to set after the “span property =”name”” part in the above “Homepage template” Try setting as shown in the figure above.
You can change the hierarchical display when displaying the breadcrumb list on the Post Type tab.
You can change the hierarchical structure display by switching the settings in the figure below near the middle of the post type tab.
